Grosso Lavender Plant
Lavandula x intermedia 'Grosso'
Grosso lavender is a larger cultivar of “french” lavender with a vigorous growth habit. Plant height can be 30 – 36″ tall and wide with a growing habit like a 180- degree dome (like a hedgehog)
Grosso has a wonderfully strong fragrance and long stems, with purple flowers. It’s good for drying, sachets, wands and general crafting. Lovely planted in multiples as a hedge.
Hardiness zone 5-9
Full sun and well drained soil are a must for success in growing lavender. It performs best in dry, sandy, alkaline, well-drained soil. Lavender does not like shade or excess water. Position the plants in the garden with plenty of space between them to encourage good air circulation. See our All About Lavender page for more information about pruning, watering and soil conditions for growing lavender.
