Provence Lavender Plants
Lavandula x intermedia 'Provence'
Provence lavender plants are a larger cultivar of “french” lavender with a vigorous growth habit. Plant height can be 30 – 36″ tall and wide.
We love Provence lavender for its strong fragrance and long stems. The flowers are light blue in color. It’s great for sachets, wands, general crafting and is even used for culinary purposes. Provence lavender would also look beautiful as a large hedge. If you are looking to attract pollinators to your garden, the bees LOVE lavender.
Hardiness zone 5-9
Full sun and well drained soil are a must for success in growing lavender. It performs best in dry, sandy, alkaline, well-drained soil. Lavender does not like shade or excess water. Position the plants in the garden with plenty of space between them to encourage good air circulation. See our All About Lavender page for more information about growing lavender.
